A Fictitious Business Name shall be filed within 40 days of first transacting business. Once registered, it is effective for 5 years. The fictitious business name will need to be re-registered prior to the date of expiration or if the business location changes. Once a Fictitious Business Name statement is filed, it must be published in the Hemet & San Jacinto Chronicle one day per week for four consecutive weeks. Publication must start within 45 days of filing the statement with the County office .

To verify the name you intend to file is not already registered, click here to search the Registry of Fictitious Business Names. We also urge you to search any other sources available to confirm the name is not already in use.
You must complete an application in order to file your Fictitious Business Name.
Once the application is completed and the order is placed, you will be instructed to download and print the completed application, print your name in section 5, and sign the form.
To pay the required fee, you will be instructed to copy or note your order number, click on the HEARTLAND link and follow the prompts. The fee to register a Fictitious Business Name is $66.00 for the first business name and owner AND $2.00 for each additional business name at same address OR owner name.
After the payment has been completed, scan the completed form and email it to FBNWebRequests@asrclkrec.com noting your order number in the SUBJECT field.
You will receive communication by email if there are any issues and when the transaction has been completed.
An Affidavit of Identity is no longer required for the filing of a Fictitious Business Name Statement.
